PoC Staff

Lynn Carter MA - Director, full-time
Following several years working for an educational travel company and also teaching English abroad, Lynn joined PoC in 1996 as a volunteer, becoming employed Desmond Tutu with staffthree months later, responsible for fundraising and co-ordinating the PoC education courses. She became Director in May 1999, succeeding Tom Blumenau OBE, who was one of the founders of PoC.

Emma Lundie BSc - Grants Officer, part-time
Emma joined PoC as a volunteer in 1999 whilst completing her degree in Mass Communications and Cultural Studies at London Metropolitan University. She joined the staff in April 2000 as Grants Assistant and was soon promoted to her present position, where she is responsible for assessing, researching and processing grant applications.

Kirsty Bennett BA - Grants Officer, part-time
After completing a degree in Modern Third World History at the School of Oriental and African Studies, Kirsty volunteered with the UNHCR before giving up work to bring up her young son. Kirsty joined PoC in April 2002 and now alongside Emma, she assesses, processes and researches grant applications.

Rachael Tyndall - Administrator/Volunteer Co-ordinator, part-time
Rachael joined PoC in 2001, following a year-long world trip, prior to which she had worked as a PA in London. In addition to running the office and being in charge of donor relations, she also co-ordinates the volunteer programme.  Rachael also works part-time as a drop-in centre co-ordinator for the Notre Dame de France Refugee Centre in London.

Reta Robinson BA - Fundraiser, full-time
As a new addition to PoC as of July 2007, Reta comes to us from Dublin, where she previously worked as the Assistant to the Head of Fundraising at the Irish Cancer Society. A Canadian, Reta holds a degree in history, philosophy and English from the University of Toronto. She is PoC's first full time fundraiser.
