Every week we receive calls for help from prisoners of conscience who desperately need our support.

Our beneficiaries suffer persecution because they choose to stand up and speak out against injustice. Our grants offer practical support, often a lifeline, to those who risk everything for what they believe in.

People like Eric*, a writer from Cameroon who has been in prison for three years due to his outspoken criticism of the government. Despite all charges against him being dropped years ago, he remains incarcerated. He has developed a degenerative eye condition and is being denied medical care. Our grant is providing Eric with medical treatment, food and bedding.

Your contribution, no matter how big or small, could be that lifeline to someone like Eric, who has sacrificed everything, to make the world a better place for all of us.

I received an email recently from a a prisoner of conscience who had suffered immensely because of his dedication to improving human rights in Iran. He said:

“Words can’t express my gratitude to your organisation. Please know that what you are doing means a lot to people living in despair with nowhere else to turn.”

To those of you who have already donated so generously to our recent postal appeal, please accept our grateful thanks. To those of you who would like to add your support please, send a gift today.
