Zoë Wanamaker, patron and staunch supporter of PoC, helped us launch the 500 Club in 2004.  Zoë says…

“As long as oppression and injustice persist in the world, PoC’s work is vital.  A grant from PoC can help rebuild lives that have been shattered by human rights violations and can help give courageous men, women and children renewed hope for the future.  I am honoured to lend my support such an admirable cause.”

All of the activity shown on this website is funded by people like you.  We have devised the 500 Club as a special way for donors to support prisoners of conscience whilst learning more about the issues that surround the plight of those who suffer and are unjustly imprisoned.

For many people we are a last hope and a grant of £500 could be a lifeline.  We may help people stay in their own countries or help feed a family and educate children whilst a parent is in prison.  Or if things get really bad, the £500 which we contribute may be the flight ticket which allows escape to safety.

How to Join

For those who would like to join the 500 Club, we suggest a monthly donation of £35 or an annual donation of £420 paid by direct debit with Gift Aid. If you are able to Gift Aid your donation, that amounts to £525 per year, which is at least £500 directly to a prisoner of conscience and the remainder to help us administer our work effectively.  Administration is important; it means making sure we are run effectively.

These funds will go directly to help a prisoner of conscience and his or her family, as they stand up for truth against oppression.
